Why is my AI chat widget not showing on my website?

If your chat widget isn't appearing on your website, don't worry — it's almost always a quick fix. Here are the most common reasons and how to resolve each one.

The most common reason the widget doesn't show up is that the code hasn't been added to the website yet, or it was pasted in the wrong place.

The widget code must be placed in the footer section of your website — this ensures it loads on every page automatically.

How to check:

• Log in to your website's backend

• Find the footer section (where site-wide code is added)

• Confirm the CareFunnels widget code is pasted there

Sometimes your browser remembers an older version of your website and doesn't show recent changes — including a newly installed widget. A hard refresh forces your browser to reload the page fresh.

On a computer:

• Windows: Press Ctrl + Shift + R

• Mac: Press Cmd + Shift + R

Try this on your website after installing the widget code and see if it appears.

Browser extensions and cached data can sometimes interfere with how your website loads. Opening your site in an incognito or private browsing tab bypasses these entirely.

How to open an incognito tab:

• Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + N (Mac)

• Safari: Press Cmd + Shift + N

• Firefox: Press Ctrl + Shift + P (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + P (Mac)

Type your website address into the incognito tab and check if the widget appears.

• Which website platform you're using (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, etc.)

• Where you pasted the widget code

• Whether you've tried a hard refresh and incognito tab

The widget shows on some pages but not others. Why? This usually means the code was added to a specific page rather than the site-wide footer. Make sure the code is in your global footer, not just one individual page.

The widget shows on my website but not on my phone. What should I try? Clear the cache on your mobile browser, or try opening the site in a private/incognito tab on your phone. Also check that your widget isn't set to hide on mobile — your CareFunnels account manager can verify this.

I installed the code but it's been over an hour and still no widget. What now? Double-check that you saved your website changes after pasting the code. If you did and it's still not showing, contact support with the details above.
