What is a number pool and why does my agency need one?

A number pool is a group of phone numbers that work together on your website to track where your visitors are coming from. When someone lands on your website, CareFunnels automatically swaps the phone number displayed on the page to a unique tracking number. This way, when that visitor calls, CareFunnels knows exactly how they found your website — whether it was through a Google search, a paid ad, a social media post, or something else.


A simple example

Imagine three people visit your website on the same day:

  • One found you by searching on Google

  • One clicked on a Facebook ad

  • One typed your website address directly

Each of those visitors sees a slightly different phone number displayed on your website. When they call, CareFunnels records which number they called — and links it back to how they found you. You end up with a clear picture of which sources are actually driving phone calls to your agency.

Will visitors see different numbers every time they visit my site? Yes — that's intentional. Each visit gets a tracking number assigned to it so CareFunnels can accurately attribute the call to the right source.

Is there an extra cost for number pools? There is a small monthly fee per phone number in your pool. Your CareFunnels account manager can give you the exact cost based on your setup.
